The group was created in 1989 by Hélène Hoffmann. The goal is to promote the crossover between diverse artistic practices : dance, puppetry, music, video, art and to make culture more accessible to new audiences. Events geared toward youth and young children, public performances or in unconventional venues are included in our mission to cater to families. The company has been developing and creating peformances since 1996. These performances have been presented all over France. We will be expanding throughout Europe: Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, etc.
Among the twenty peformances realized today, many of them were collaborations with other Theatre companies or groups : A Tulle Tête, Vent vif, Compagnie Caméléon, Phrénésis, Fractal Audiovisuel, Théâtre ''T"". In addition, Vire Volte is involved in the promotion of culture with studio workshops on awareness, training and organization of cultural events.
In agreement with the city of Montreuil sous Bois
(93), the organization assumed the artistic direction and managment of
Théâtre de La Noue from 1999 to 2005, following a plan of
artistic activities from 2006 to 2008.
From 1999 to 2007, Vire Volte organized the festival « Le printemps
des tout-petits » in Seine-Saint-Denis.
Since 2007 The company has a muli-year residency in Rosny-sous-Bois (93)
The General Council of Seine-Saint-Denis, the Regional Council of the
Ile de France and DRAC, Ile de France support specfic events and works
by Vire Volte.
